Each year, the Miami Herald names twenty people “20 Under 40.” They seek emerging leaders in any field, including technology, law, non-profit, business, medicine, education, entrepreneurship, tourism, real estate, or any other endeavor, whose innovative approaches, business acumen, or community focus mark them as leaders. Moreover, nominees must be known for their high ethical standards. This year, Jane Muir was selected for her significant contributions to the legal profession and the community.
Nominators highlighted recognition Muir has earned as an attorney and entrepreneur. She co-founded her practice in 2010. Since then the firm has served more than three hundred clients, and earned recognition by clients and attorneys alike. Muir’s practical approach to explaining legal solutions makes her a sought-after speaker for seminars and conferences. Muir has been repeatedly elected to represent the legal community, serving as treasurer, president-elect, and president of the Coral Gables Bar Association, twice serving as director and four times serving on the executive committee member of the Dade County Bar Association. When serving as vice-chair and chair of the University of Miami Law Young Alumni Club, the organization grew from twenty members to fifteen chapters with over two thousand members nationally. Nominators also mentioned her pro bono service, sharing that she co-founded two popular fundraising events, the Battle of the Bands, benefiting Dade Legal Aid and the Legal Eagle Competition, benefiting Legal Services of Greater Miami.
