ABOUT ME
Jane W. Muir is a prominent business litigation attorney and managing shareholder at J. Muir & Associates, P.A., based in Coral Gables, Florida. She has been recognized as a “Super Lawyer” from 2021 to 2024 and was previously listed as a “Rising Star” from 2014 to 2019. Muir’s practice areas include complex commercial litigation, business transactions, and general counsel services.

Muir is admitted to practice in Florida, the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, and the United States Circuit Courts of Appeal for the Tenth and Eleventh Circuits. She holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, indicating the highest level of professional excellence.

CELEBRATED LEGAL PROFESSIONAL AND COMMUNITY ADVOCATE
When she joined the legal profession in 2009, Ms. Jane Muir became active in the voluntary bar. She has been elected to leadership positions, serving as President of the Coral Gables Bar Association, (after being elected to the board of directors, Treasurer and President-Elect) and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Dade County Bar Association five times. She was then 2016-2017 Treasurer, 2017-2018 Secretary, 2018-2019 Vice President, 2019-2020 President-Elect, and 2020-2021 President of the Dade County Bar Association. During her presidency, which required suspension of ordinary activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the association initiated an ambitious renovation of their headquarters, adopted the name Miami-Dade Bar Association and associated new logos and color scheme, and hired a well-qualified executive director. She has remained a member of the board after concluding her service as an officer. She has lectured regarding organizational management, accounting and tax issues, social media, cybersecurity and technology for a variety of conferences and programs.
EXPERIENCE, SERVICE, AND RECOGNITION
A Miami native, Muir attended the Hotchkiss School and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Art History, and International Relations from the University of Florida, graduating magna cum laude. She then completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Miami School of Law, where she was actively involved in the Mock Trial Team, earned the John F. Evans Memorial Scholarship, and was admitted to the Order of Barristers.

Muir has served in numerous leadership roles, including President of the Coral Gables Bar Association and the Miami-Dade Bar Association, where she played a pivotal role in the association’s rebranding and renovation of their headquarters during her presidency. Her community service includes chairing the All-Grove Crime Watch and contributing to various pro bono projects, earning her the Pro Bono Service Award for Innovative Projects.

Her accolades include the Lynn Futch Most Productive Young Lawyer Award from the Florida Bar, the Alumni Leadership Award from the University of Miami School of Law Alumni Association, and being named one of the “20 Under 40 Emerging Leaders in South Florida” by the Miami Herald.
